Center Director

Dear Parents,

I invite you to explore our center, where we empower children to go forth into the larger world with confidence in themselves and with courage to shape the world we inhabit.

Whether your child is an infant, toddler, preschooler or school age, the process of searching for just the right place that aligns with your family values and needs can be both exciting and daunting.  I am excited for you to learn more about our center filled with intellectual passion for children to play, explore and learn. I will be delighted to speak with you, guide you through this journey and most importantly get to know your child and family.

Sincerely,

Maria L. Uzhca,

Center Director

Team

There are certain kinds of people who love what they do, and our team is formed by those  people who share a passion for early childhood education. Our teachers are trained to care, and nature each child’s development stage and needs. Together we work as a team to support each other, and create a nurturing, safe, strong and joyful community.

All of our team are required for early childhood development training and certification, background check, medical examination, CPR & First Aid Training, EpiPen Certification, and are committed to continuously  engage in professional growth training to improve their practice in child development. Because we believe we play an essential role in the well-being of our children and families.

Space

Our indoor and outdoor space is created to encourage freedom, creativity and socialization where children can move in and out of different interest areas. Based on our monthly theme, every month we integrate different stimulating materials for children to explore and freely interact with all of the children in the space.

The Hive believes that nature and gardening play a vital role in childhood development. Growing our own fruits and vegetables helps children learn the importance of healthy foods in our nutrition. Our outdoor space is created for children to enjoy and learn about the natural world, leading to well-rounded development.

Our Approach

Our approach to Education

PLAY is a child’s work. In these years of early childhood development children meet the world with imagination, conflict and desire.  To enhance children’s development, creativity and intelligence The Hive blends educational philosophies such as Reggio-Emelia, Montessori and Waldorf  to help  put children’s thoughts, feelings and ideas into words, developing and expanding their social-emotional, language and cognitive skills.

Teachers provide both open-ended materials and guided activities that encourage creativity, thinking, and open opportunities for children to make sense of their internal and external world.

Our daily curricula includes Art, Literacy & Numeracy, Storytelling, Building with Blocks, Puzzling, and with plants around singing and giggling the joy of learning is everywhere. For our 2+ years old, neighborhood trips are planned so that they can bring new observations about the world into the classroom. In addition to our daily curricula we incorporate the following enrichment classes once every week.
